Ok this is my first post, and may be my first dumb question. I run an O2R and a bunch of DA-88's.. always word clocked. I was wondering if it makes any difference to have the DA-88s word clocked or not when "formatting" new tapes?
If they are already word clocked together leave them. If the machines are slaves to the 02R, just dont change the clock source on the 02R (like switching the sync sourc to digital 2track in to play back a DAT tape). The clock jump will ruin the format (if not cause it to abort).
If in doubt switch to internal. Even if all of the machines are formatting on their own clock, all of the tapes will lock when you return to common word clock.
