If anyone can help me decide on the setup for my home studio, I would reallllllllly
appreciate it. I have really been looking at the Roland VS-1680 but I have also thought about using my IBM Aptiva system to do the job. So, someone please help me in this nerve wrecking endeavor of mine.

Currently I have an Alesis keyboard, MPC 2000, and the Event Triad monitors. I have just gotten more money to get more toys for my studio.

If you can also comment on the use of my computer system (Do you think it could do the job?).

Thanks

CeeBig

You can use both the computer and the 1680! Put a cd burner in your computer with your favorite software. A MUCH easier task than doing it all in a pc. I also think the cds have less problems from a pc system than an external burner.

Mix from the 1680 to the computer and burn a CD. You can then tweak it yourself. Or dont tweak it. Send it to Roger!

The work I have been sent to master from Roland 880 and 1680 machines are the best project studios mixes in years.

Good Luck,

Jim

What do you think about the VS-1680 personally? Do you think it produces good masters to use for CD duplication?

What type of software should I use with that type of setup?

AND THANKS FOR YOUR HELP BeanStudio Mastering.
