My question is digital distotion on play back of my audio media 111 card I am useing a IBM intellestion NT system my sound card is the audio media 111 card with acid rock and sound fourge.
The problem only occurs on play back it sounds like digital distotion or some sort of voltage build up. I have contacked digidsign they say they have heard of this but seem to think its in the software.
They also sugested i run a duel boot system and load win98. If this is true i would like to know how this can be done.
For those wondering I bought the NT system to some day run the pro tools.
This does sound like a software problem. I use an Audiomedia III card every day in my Mac, and it never clicks or distorts. It may be a Windows NT problem.
On my PC I already had W98 installed and when I installed NT it asked me if I wanted to replace W98 or install a dual boot system. I said Dual boot and it installed NT as a second system. When I boot the computer asks me if I want to boot NT or W98.
I am not sure if it will work exactly the same way if NT is already on the computer and you install W98, but I know it works if NT is installed second.
I know NT doesn't like hardware based solutions that want to be the boss all of the time. NT wants to give everyone equal time and this sometimes adds glitches in digital audio systems.
Rodger thank you for your input. Ihave tried to install win98. But i cant get it to boot from the c prompt with the disc in . Any ideas? Again thank you
