I imported from Fostex mr-8 into Audacity. I recorded dry, so, I'd like to add some reverb. Audacity doesn't have reverb. It has echo and delay. Are they the same thing? Anyway, I have no idea how much to assign to these settings.

DELAY:
Decay amount
Delay time
Number of echos

ECHO:
Delay time
Decay factor

I've tried several times but it's too much each time. Is there anything general I can do? Should I use dealy or echo or both and how much?

This is guitar/vocal. Track 1 and Track 2 are guitar/vocal together, which is really not what I want but that's what I got. I went into the mixer this time and it came out stereo, I guess. I want to figure out how to separate the guitar from the vocal but that's another issue. Now that I got what I got, any help with delay/echo is appreciated.

That's the weirdest nomenclature I've come across. Yes, most people use delay and echo as synonyms.

One might presume that 'delay' is intended to be synonymous with 'reverb' -- but that's just bizarre. 'Number of echoes' seems to imply more of a multi-tap echo.

Does Audacity support DX or VST plug ins?

I don't know if Audacity supports DX or VST plug ins.

As far as what I asked about, any idea of settings? I kept coming down from the default but it was still too much echo or delay. I can't imagine how anyone could go with the default settings, but I know very little about recording. My WAV files are dry. I don't even know which one to use -- echo or delay.

EDIT: I got Kristal going finally and I actually figured out how to twiddle e.q. and reverb and delay. I have no clue what to set them add, I just hunt and peck. Sounds better than the original. Well, kinda. Anyway, Krystal appears to be pretty powerful. For free. If I only knew what to change the settings to.
