My 10 yr old nephew just got his 1st GTR. It's kind of a cool story, because he saved his lawn mowing money, went to GTR Center and picked out a black Lez Paul Jr. with practice amp, headphones, tuner, gig bag and such. He was a about $100 short, so the sales guy set him up with 90 days interest free and can pay it off after he mows more lawns !!!! How cool is that What a great way to teach a kid responsability.
I'm thinking maybe we could do some web-cam lessons together as we live 700 miles apart??? Anybody with web-cam experience enough to know if it might be possible for us to pull that off??? We're both Hi-Speed. Any camera recomendations for the best results???
Thanks, Russ

That is cool man!! My son Skippy(1.5 years old) Allways plays ukelele ,..well plays ahum,...he's a shredder
The webcam thing might be difficult because there's allways some delay. But as long as you don't jam together it can work out. If you show him what to do and he does it next it's no problem.
You must be a cool uncle!!

Uh oh. Now he's destined to get excited about things that no one else finds interesting and will have to seek out like minded people over the internet...

Well then maybe you could give me a few lessons then??? I think it's time to release the valve a bit !!!
Hey I've been meaning to ask you (and Bruce) did you ever meet up with Bruce this Spring when he was over there??? He really likes you a lot, you make him laugh. I know you've got an open invetation to stay in touch with him .. I'd do it.
On a more serious note, if you ever need to know anything about recording, I'll be happy to help out.

That is a great offer Russ! allthough I joke around a lot I'm very eager to learn as much about recording as I possible can. I try to make the best sound possible here in my little studio of 36 square ft.
I never got to meet Bruce because he was in Kopenhagen and that's about 700 miles from here. For you U.S. guys that's like doing groceries in another city but here it'll cost ya a fortune to get there.
About those lessons,.... If you ever have the chance to get to Amsterdam I'd love to take you out and get waisted together Heck I'll even cook ya dinner and offer you a bed(I do not have much earthly possessions but I do have a 5 bedroom house).
When I got the notice that Bruce left the building I was very sad. At first I thought that maybe I was part of the cause since I made stupid jokes to him all the time. Then again,..he wouldn't have send me a signed copy of his book if that was true.
I don't have an email adress so can't contact him but I'm sure that if I keep going on with my music and produce stuff on the same and a better level as I do now, Bruce's and my path will cross again someday.
Another question,,.... do you have place for an intern in let's say 16 years? I'm allready networking for Skippy

Hey Booshy,
Man I wonder where we'll be at 16 years from now in the music recording world??? Hopefully 16 years from now there won't be any Interns and everyone will get paid VERY WELL. I'm lucky I've never had to Intern anywhere.
16 years ago I was working with Bruce on "Bad" and the changes since then have been wonderful. Back then Bruce was useing a small Mac SE !!!! Of course we had "two" .. million dollar Synclavier's !!! That helped.
Hey you've got Bruce's address ... drop him a post card in the mail. I'm sure he'll enjoy staying in touch with you. I know he really liked your enthusiasm, honesty, frankness & laughter. Yea 700 miles would be too far over here too. I am planning on visiting him soon, but I'll have other business near him as well.
You can bet if I'm ever in Amsterdam I'll give you a shout .. same here my friend.

Postcard is on it's way I hope he doesn't think I'm stalking him.
Russ, 30 years ago when I was 4 years old my father gave me a recordplayer and a few Elvis Records. I still play those same records and I promissed myself that if I ever have the money for it I'll go to Memphis and Sing a song at Elvis's grave.
Right now I'm working on a set with a bassplayer, drummer and guitarplayer. We'll only do Rockabilly stuff and Country blues etc. Every dime that I make with that tour will go in a jar and I'll use it to get to Graceland with my family.(considering the pay musicians get overhere that'll be in 2032)
If I ever reach Tennessee I promisse I'll bring you a dutch cheese straight out of Holland

That's just 200 miles down the road from me, plan it during Elvis week during the anniversary of his death. I've been many times as a songwriter by the name of Mark James gave me my 1st job in Nashville working at his private Studio. Mark wrote "Always On My Mind", "Suspicious Minds", "Moody Blue." also "Hooked On A Feeling."
Just ask Bruce if he minds keeping in touch by e-mail and ask him for the address .. better for you to get it from him than me !!! He REALLY does like you.
Well I've got a session about to start.

Russ That's what I meant earlier man,...
If I drive 100 miles to the north I'll be in another country.
If I drive 100 miles to the east I'll be out of my country.
If I drive 150 miles south I'll be out of my country.
If I drive 10 miles west I have more to drink than I can handle.....
Oh and I didn't ask Bruce for his email. I've just put mine on the postcard.
If he wants to chat he knows where to find me.
