Personally I am looking forward it.
It really does promise to be interesting, maybe even fun.

How cool is that? I thought of that, too. IF I retire soon, I'm thinking about writing a book about jam sessions, open mics, and (possibly) karaoke, which, aside from the liquid courage aspect, is like a jam for vocalists. We have a really nice jam scene going on here, and I've been to some in other places. If things come together, I may have the freedom to go to some of the gatherings like Phil's last year, or the East Coast one this year. I might even be able to host one myself for those of us far from the salt air.

I might wait until the cool features like Avatars and posting pictures are available on HC before I go over there.

Wait a second. I just did a search on HC and there's people from Des Moines on the HC forum! Now I'll have to go over to HC.

Henry Hey, we could work together on that...there are some prairie dwellers here. Lessee..there are some from the Kansas City area, you in Topeka...Dave Wendler in Lawrence...seems like perhaps someone further down south around Springfield...now, Franky in Des Moines...seems like there are one or two others up Des Moines way...

Craig...sorry but I'll reserve opinon for now, it's progression, evolution and survival.
I'm a bit more aware of the post house cleaning timbre, off the record...Mitch etc...an example is that the newest EQ looks like a teen girl magazine...and it's paper thin...so is Mix.
With all respect MKNB's...for example, stating that banning is a norm, something I've only seen here twice makes me suspect...
Let's say there is a click through for a banner ad from say (big cheese internet retailer), what's to prevent the good folks at publicly held company, from reverse tracking the lead...?
Or better still who cares...well a few of us actually do.
Oh, did I say that...
That's what I am not as convinced of, the eventual captive market...
I knew HC was on the block and my guess is it's been sold for a lot less then he told me he was asking, what exactly GC/MF will do as far as supporting their adversarial commerce counterpoints, remains to be seen...
Content, sure, but as with MPN, these types of boards need to eventually show a profit...
If the other retailers drop off, GC will squeeze vendors for the banner money, and so expect to see a banner version of the MF monthly catalog...
Lot's of private label...
If they leave content up to real folks, great but call me a skeptical at the onset...sorry..
Will we still see the Sam Ash, Zzounds, 123 ads after the shift?
Not as time goes on...
If that's the result so be it, same day different ad engine...but banning and crap like that, I can join a political party and get a list of approved talking points...
Prove me wrong Craig and Phil.
