Yeah, Neil...

Pretty strange about the deleted threads, especially since there seems to be a large hue-and-cry about how 'the changes' will bring moderators into the mix. Someone or something is apparently able to gobble threads right up without a trace.

Strange days indeed...

Hope you got your trailer before Tedster took all the rest of them. Let's hope WFTurner put up the curtains (finally!). Otherwise Super 8 will never leave his trailer again... \:D

Yeah, I wondered about that, too.
If there's no moderator over there, then who's moderating (if you can call it that)?

Peace,

wraub

Hey Wraub,

Yea, there are two moderators. Scott (the big guy) and someone named Skunks.

I think they don't really have much of an idea what's going on until someone reports a post, then they check it out.

It keeps things pretty loose, but it also means someone might get away with murder and not be reported, while someone else gets slapped up pretty hard for just a minor infraction of the rules...

Tamoore,

Thanks for the info.
It does seem, ummmm, "free" over there, at least at OJ.
That can be cool. There's actually a place sort of like that, not too far from here... ;\)

That does bring up the subjects of favortism and the clicque mindset, though.
If the "popular" kids get to say and do as they please, and the others get banned, that just kinda bites. Are complaints the only impetus to ban someone?
I hope an accord can be reached, or things could get uglier.

Peace,

wraub

I said I was taking a trailer with a mountain view , facing away from WF's windows!

Tamoore, I get the feeling the current moderators may not be in the loop of what's about to happen and have mistakenly felt the talk of "invasion" is some group of trolls who intend to bog down their forums with garbage. (Like we could ever add a noticable amount to the existing pile. ;\) )

Thanks, Tim. I had an Oliver Douglas experience when I went over there to have a look. I'm glad that it's not just me.

\:D

I'd probably be banned like wewus within a week.

That's what I figure. It'll probably be a little bit bumpy for the first week or so, but I'm sure things will be much like they've been, with just a few new folks added in. At least, so far, that looks to be what's happening with dB taking over KSS's moderating duties. A bit of complaint at first, some adjustments, but mostly seems to be settling into a familiar (but slightly different) vibe.

Lee, do you know if the plan is to actually combine SSS with OJ? I always assumed they'd be free standing, with OJ being more likely to be combined with the Political Forum if anything.

It is looking like OJ will be pretty much left as is and both SSS and the Political forum will be new.

I'm a little confused, I guess.

Why do you guys think OJ is your destination? Wouldn't this forum be moved over more or less intact?

And isn't this forum about sound? Have you checked out the HC Live Sound and Recording forums yet? Much more sedate and useful stuff goes on there. We only venture over to OJ to let our hair down.

This place, to me, seems like a mix of the Guitar Jam, Live Sound, and Recording forums on HC.

Just my 2 cents.

Not our destination but possibly a stop. There's a lot of cross forum pollination here, people just don't stay on The SSS. This isn't just a sound forum either, far from it. It's also The OT forum, there's a little bit of everything. It's a meeting place.
