So far I can't even sign up,it appears that Hotmail,Yahoo and even Gmail are banned,at least for me anyway.Besides AOL,what are they accepting? Also,is Email account activation neccessary? Because if not,I guess you could just say AOL even if you don't have an account.

I don't know for certain, but I believe it's the large, internet mail domains they've locked out.
How do you access the net? Doesn't you ISP provide an email address for you, or do you simply not want to provide that address to them?
My original AOL address is my "open" address, outside the Hotmail address they won't allow. If you don't want to give up your main ISP address, check to see if your ISP offers you several addresses. You can set one up as the deliberate receiver of spam and registrations. I would've used a different AOL address but my entire family shares our original screen-names tied to my brother's charter subscription to AOL. (I think it was 1992 or 93 when he joined the upstart, AOL BBS.

I'm trying to find out what services are acceptable to them(besides AOL). I'm hooked thru my cable, zoominternet.net. I would think any email host that you have a paid type of account would qualify, even if they offer a free email service. Lycos has free email but I keep one of their paid type of email accounts though I hardly use it anymore. I didn't try it but I would expect it to work cause in the act of paying for it I had to supply real info in relation to my identity compared to the bogus info one can offer over a free account.

Alndln,
Lee was offering up a few WT? email addy's, Gus offered at least one that I know of, and if both of them are booked up, I don't mind offering up a few email addy's on my .com site. Dan South, Mats Olsson, yourself, and several others seem to be caught up in limbo without working emails that will allow them access on HC.... Between some of us that have extra email accounts that we don't use, maybe we can make this move a bit easier for those that will be lost in the transition.
Some of you folks can email me at anifa@musicbizbuzz.net if you can't find other options.

Hi,
This is my first post here, and for my sins I'm an HC regular.
As far as I know, any genuine email service (such as one provided by your ISP or yahoo) should work.
I look forward to seeing you all there, and hope that not too many are plagued by the firewall issue that I've heard some speak of.
Cheers
Tim

Yahoo didn't work for me,HC wouldn't accept it.Yahoo,ICQ,and Hotmail were rejected, but I was able to register with my old Net Zero account.

Gmail didn't work...had to register with my ISP address. Would be nice if they told you why you were being rejected though. I never could handle rejection... Barry

What a pointless, f---ing hassle!

I agree, but since I already had the free version of Net Zero as a back up ISP it wasn't that bad.It would have been a nice gesture by HC if they simply imported longstanding members registrations over there or even the whole kit and kaboodle, just transfer everything over which would have been more beneficial to them.

Actually, we've been speaking with the HC folks about allowing folks to register with yahoo, etc. They seem open to the idea.
Stay tuned...
