I just saw a brief clip on the news, and they say several homes are threatened.

I hope you're okay and not in jeopardy of losing your home and studio. \:\(

I lived there in my youth. Tons of dry trees and grassy canyons. Fires were a huge threat. I'm interested to know Valky's okay, but I also have friends there still, so I hope everyone stays safe.

Hey guys! I'm here... I'm OK. The fire was on the other side of the hill from me... looked pretty ugly. Lots of smoke here. We have so many dry hills and canyons around here... the one on my street has not burned in at least 30 years... which means when a fire hits PV it can be really bad.

Good to hear you're okay, Valky. \:\)
I couldn't find it noted anyplace... was the fire on the RPV/SP side or the west side?

[edited 'cause I found a Daily Breeze article finally!]
Nevermind.. I see where it was now.

The fire was near Crenshaw and Crest, up above Portuguese Bend.

A fire in that same spot when I was a kid had me working with my Dad to water down my roof from the burning cinders dropping down on us.

Yeah, not that any place is a good place for a fire near homes, but that's a particularly pricey and dangerous place. Looks like they got it under control pretty quickly considering... and I didn't see a mention of injury or damage to homes.
That's a relief. \:\)

It still bugs me when my hometown gets on fire.

I'm glad no houses ended up burning.

I think this happens when you take the sunglasses off.
Remember: they're not to protect your eyes from the sun, they're to protect everything around you from your eyes.
