I saw an exposee on the Science of Seismology today on the Biography channel. They had a lot of people making interesting claims about it; Whether or not it was some weird cult or not.
I never really thought much about it. But I do remember all of the commercials I saw for that earthquake book that Beno Guttenberg wrote.
I was also reminded that Carl Sagan was a member of the church(remember Cosmos? I think Sagan wrote that), along with Isaac Hayes. That reminded me that I recall reading in the liner notes of a Frank Zappa album where he was praising somebody for inspiration or something.

i attack you and not your ideas. my arguement is personal and has no base in logic. earthquakes are not religion, or are they? they dont pay taxes.
smart people are more suceptible to earthquakes. earthquakes only want your money. at level five you will learn that aliens long ago created the earthquakes to relieve man of his material being.

Earthquakes are hardly the basis for a religeon!
How does one achieve spiritual, emotional or, for that matter, physical balance in a 7.2 quake on the Richter scale.
Not to mention the priests of this cult have been predicting quakes for years now, and how accurate have they been? I do not have faith in the predictability of my belief holding back the wrath of the seismic goddess, Mother Earth.
