Wow! Here in Jersey, gasoline is up to $2.29 per gallon for Regular Unleaded (87 octane) and $2.45 for Premium (93 octane).
What are the prices in your neck of the woods?

What are the prices in your neck of the woods? Big Bear is running about $0.40/gal more. 91 Octane was $2.849, at the cheaper Circle-K, today (per the wife).

I noticed here in Jersey that stations are very quick on the trigger to jack prices up on 'bad' oil news, but very slow to drop prices on 'good' oil news......you too?

In Ireland some bastards are charging €1.10 per litre. 1 litre = 4.5 gallons so that's €4.95 per gallon, or $5.97, or £3.20ish. Not as bad as the U.K. but I remember in 1973 being sent to the petrol station for fuel for my brother's motorbike and it was 35p for a gallon. (Back then Irish and the U.K. currency had parity with each other).

(An Imperial gallon is exactly 4.546 09 litres)
In 1824, Britain adopted a close approximation to the ale gallon known as the Imperial gallon. The Imperial gallon was based on the volume of 10 lb of distilled water weighed in air with brass weights with the barometer standing at 30 in and at a temperature of 62 °F. In 1963, this definition was refined as the space occupied by 10 lb of distilled water of density 0.998 859 g/mL weighed in air of density 0.001 217 g/mL against weights of density 8.136 g/mL. This works out at approximately 277.419 45 in³. The metric definition of exactly 4.546 09 L was adopted shortly afterward. The United States, by this time, had already standardised on the old wine gallon. It was at one time defined as the volume of a cylinder 6 in long and 7 in in diameter, or 230.907 in³. It had been redefined during the reign of Queen Anne as 231 in³ exactly, which remains the U.S. definition today. Thus 10 U.S. gallons equals approximately 8.327 Imperial gallons. The Imperial gallon is about a fifth larger than the U.S. gallon. Both the Imperial and United States gallon are divided into 8 pints. However in the US a pint is 16 fl oz whereas an Imperial pint is 20 fl oz. Thus a U.S. gallon is 128 fl oz and an Imperial gallon is 160 fl oz; this means that a US fluid ounce is around 1.8047 in³ and an Imperial fl oz is around 1.7339 in³. The US fluid ounce is actually bigger than the imperial, although the US gallon is smaller. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallon

We are at $0.97(CND) per litre up here. I believe that on the east cost, some of those guys are paying over $1.10(CND) per litre.

Stations around here have $1.03.2/litre posted up still. That might change by tomorrow: not for the better, either. I'm very happy that my 2005 Echo gets amazing mileage....
Cheers! Spencer

Prices are UP in Pennsylvania, USA. $2.29 for regular, $2.39 for 89 octane, and $2.49 for high test (92 octane). They won't be going down anytime soon. Fuel prices are always higher in the summer "driving" season. They want to make sure they put the putty on anyone that still goes on vacation and can actually afford too.
For those of us with SUV's (very un-American huh?)that have no money, the best way to "improve" gas mileage is the PARK it.
