I'm ok Base, my mums works at the Royal London and going now to get her... This is really bad and she says theres lots of people coming in dead or hurt badly
See you all later ok and I hope everyone else is ok to.
Get word to us one way or another please as 3 buses have gone of and the entire underground system is closed down.

Possible I suppose, but OTOH, I wouldn't consider it to be probable. I would guess that the same people who brought you 9/11 and Madrid have been heard from yet again.   This was apprently a well coordinated and well planned attack, and that requires a certain level of planning, sophistication and technical know how - not something I'd expect from the typical G8 protesters.
I heard someone on TV speculating about it being Olympics related, but I am nearly certain that wasn't it - an attack of this sort would take far more than a day or two to set up and plan.
I suppose the IRA has the capability to pull an op like that off, but OTOH, I don't see the upside in it for them to do so. And this looks bigger than anything they've ever done in London anyway. Nope, my guess is al Qaeda.
Obviously I'm disgusted, horrified and ticked off by what I'm watching on TV right now. I hope all of our UK friends (and their friends and families) are doing okay.

I just heard that to Base
I just got a call from my mum and she says that theres no way she can leave the hospital now as shes needed in casualty and that the roads are all closed of near by.
I just hope I can get her from work soon as I am worried incase other bombs go of!
The mobile network is down to now so cant even call Phil the bassist for YCB or my ex Biz Partner who both work in London...what do i do?

I'm still checking friends and relatives. Several friends use Aldgate station and those bus routes. Same old stuff. It's been a bit qiet for a bit, but during the 30 year IRA campaign, we got kind of used to it. It won't change anything. Same as when we lost hundreds of thousands of civilians in ww2. We just clear up, bury the dead, and get on with it.
Same as it ever was.

The unspeakable pieces of scum responsible for these attacks have once again proved their inability / unwillingness to live by the tenets of a civilised society. They have thereby given up their rights to be treated according to democratic principles of justice when they are caught. They will, of course, be the first to start bleating about the Geneva Convention etc. when they are caught. It's their hypocrisy that really makes me angry. My condolences to the families of those dead or injured. I'll write no more for the prsent as I'm feeling sort of emotional.

Seems as it was definatly an Islamic group of sorts that has done this!
I am so angry as alot of the stuff I do is based in Central London and now life has to stand still for many Londoners!
This is a cowadice act and a crime against freedom and I hope that they get hold of those responsible as soon as possible! Sh1theads!

Awful news.
My wife just contacted me. She has a couple of friends in that area (same situation as here -friends from an online forum), apparently one of them works right in the area the attack took place. She sent them some emails, but hasn't heard anything back yet. Naturally, she's worried.
Hope everyone is okay.
You guys have got my prayers.
Very sad.

Y'know this is weird. We're so used to seeing this stuff in films and in TV dramas that this doesnt seem real. But it is, very very real.
The reports are praising the emergency services and the calmness of the members of the public. Y'know maybe all these TV dramas have helped people prepare for this sort of thing. Everybody just seems to know what to do. Of course the emergency services are trained for this but your average commuter is not.
We have been saying for ages that an attack on London has been inevitable. No big surprise then that it happens at the start of the G8.
Glad everyone from the forums is checking in OK, sad so many others are not.
