Well, I got my Triple C yesterday. I haven't plugged it in yet, but it LOOKS sweet.
Anyway, first thing I did was download the OS update and plug the Triple C into the MIDI out from my Tascam US-428. Unfortunately, the TC software updater not only failed to update the OS, it crashed my computer. Not once, but five times. I tried the same thing with my roommate's computer, plugging into the MIDI out on his Roland SC-8850. It didn't crash his computer, but the update still didn't work. I finally busted out an old joystick-to-MIDI interface, and that actually worked fine. But what's the deal? TC's software updater doesn't work with USB MIDI? That sucks!
And now that I've got the update, I can't for the life of me find release notes for the new OS. It apparently adds some significant functionality, but the only info I can find on TC's website is a cheesy little press release that vaguely details the new features. Is there actually any detailed documentation of the new OS floating around somewhere?
For a company that makes such stellar gear, TC sure seems to have its head lodged up its ass in the online support department...

Well, I guess that's one way to look at it...:P
I based my purchase on some really positive reviews in Keyboard and Sound on Sound, as well as the fact that its feature set seemed like it would perfectly solve some problems I had. I can't testify to that yet, since I haven't put it through it's paces, but it looks pretty damn good so far. Of course, I haven't had the experience of working with the first OS, so I can't comment on that either.
I just wish TC had invested a little more effort in letting its customers know what the hell is going on...and maybe in making the update process a little less fickle...

Sorry ! If you really want some entertainment, try asking them a technical question. Oh, be prepared to be informed that your question is completely irrelevent because people buy then anyway, so why should they have to answer your questions. It must be a Danish thing.
Peace, LeiDeLi

LOL!!!
That sounds like it's based on some hard personal experience.
I hope I never have to deal with their tech support...
