Hi there,
Hello, I'm interested in buying this thing in near future. When I was looking at its pictures on the net, I noticed that stereo channels don't have the gain knob (as also some other Behringers don't have it) unlike other usual mixers. And now I'd like to ask what's the reason, and what to do with it - does it somehow amplify the signal to the same volume as it does with internal mic-preamps or not? What is it good for and what shouldn't I expect to connect to those channels?
Thanks very much
Matej

Well I guess those are intended for line level signal which is typical of consummer equipement that produce line level output like a CD player. Since the CD player produces the same standardised level output as the mixer's input it doesn't need to be amplified to work with the mixer.

Microphones produce a very weak signal compared to line and since no mics are the same you need a variable gain control to adjust the signal according to your needs.

This is somewhat of a basic overview answer but I think you get the idea.
