I didn't know the man personally, but it seemed that everything of his that I saw, read or heard was worthwhile, and he seems to have touched a number of people profoundly in his (too) short time on the planet.

He programed the huge modular synth for Dream Theater's "Tribute to Pink Floyd" concert(s). There's a video on youtube showing Jordan Ruddess playing the thing in the London O2 Arena, programmed by the late composer. RIP, my condolences to his family

Bit of a shocker, especially for those here in Berkeley at Buchla Labs (not my employer but I have a couple of friends there). My condolences to friends and family. He left us way too soon.

I corresponded with Richard a few times - very nice and humble guy. Sorry to see him go before his time.

I caught this on the dotcom forum. Man, shows you have to live life every day as if it were your last. I didn't know this man but it seems he did. RIP.
