Leftover from the recent NAMM show. Minor dings and "show" wear.....

Trad standard, glossy finish, "acoustic sized" neck, set up for flattop styles

KW with Tele pup....GREAT sounding and playing. Gloss finish.

Trad, set up for jazz...slightly smaller neck than the above Trad. Low action. Gloss.

Sweet mercy. I knew I shouldn't have looked in here. What kind of neck shape do you use?

The only issue I have with this advert is that I was looking at this bass in the Bass Player classifieds - and was thinking about making an offer on it - until I saw this thread, where you finally revealed that this is a "leftover" from the NAMM show, and that you want more for this 4-string fretless that is supposedly "your personal instrument" than I'd normally pay for a reasonable equivalent brand new.

Hey Griff...I have a heckuva time keeping a bass for myself...but alas...paying for the NAMM show tapped me out. I'd rather not sell it....but....sorry for the confusion. I built this one this past spring(it was the first instrument completed for the show)...

A new custom order like this one would be well over $1500.

WEll...these really vary. When I make guitars for a show, I tend to make the shapes different for each one, to show what's possible.

For example, the first one has a pretty "girthy" neck..similar to an 50's Martin D28.

The "KW" model, with a 1.75" nut, has low shoulders, more like a modern electric neck...but a tad wider.

When a customer orders a guitar, he can get pretty much any shape he wants within reason....deep V, shallow oval, Classical(Jackson) style...whatever.

I just took several instruments off the list. The bass is on eBay....and I've sold the CJ and mandolin.

Here's new recording of the KW...uber clean Tele sound. Both trax are the same guitar. Lead line is the Tele pup by itself. Used a RI DLX to record through.
