Yes, another boring New Fish post, I know. Well, I finally set the hook and bought a used Mexi P with a case for $250. The guy I bought it from got it to use at his church, didn't like bass, picked up drums instead. It sat in his basement for 3 years, wasn't going to sell it, decided lateer that he would, so I bought it.

The bass itself is Arctic White, and it looks almost mint (the white ones have the strat-style volume and tone knobs, which I like better than the chrome ones anyways). There is one little ding at the very tip of the headstock, one scuff mark behind the bridge that I buffed almost all of it out with a damp napkin, and one small ding right on the heel. There is one scuff mark on the pickguard. All of this stuff you have to really be looking for to find. there is no buckle rash at all.

The thing is still in tune, or at least real close by ear. The action is nice and low, but the G string bridge saddle is a touch too low. Even the strings still look and sound brand new.

The case is a TKL, don't know much about them but it looks new. There isn't a scuff anywhere, the key is still there and in the little baggie, has that new case smell, the whole nine yards.

I don't know how old it is, but it has been taken care of. It's worth what I paid for it, and it's my first 'name brand' instrument. I haven't played with it much, but I am satisfied that I won't need to do much except maybe adjust the bridge a smidgen.

Hopefully I will get to play around with it in the next day or so. I wasn't really looking for a P, but I do like the sound, and if nothing else, it's a good stepping stone.

Mike

I keep hoping something like that jumps up and grabs me by the eyebrows at a garage sale one day. Congrats on the find!
