I don't watch much television, but I happened to see the current Dockers ad. I loved the song the first time I heard it!
Turns out it's California Soul by Marlena Shaw. I never heard of her, but I love the smooth bass groove.
Another song for iTunes...

Great tune. It was used on an Ad over here too. I'm not sure that it was Dockers though.
Sometimes I think the tunes that go with these adverts are more momorable than the product they are supposed to be selling. Or is that just because I take more notice of the music than the product?

Include a youtube link when you say something ablout a tune like this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmk30mvVz3Y Otherwise someone will link a song like this that you will never be able to get out of your head for the rest of the week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XucbKof0HcU enjoy
Edited by Brocko777 (06/21/08 03:33 AM) Edit Reason: too many "like this"

Well, the singer is nothing special, but her bass player(s) defintely puts down a solid groove and tasty fills. Very Motown.

Neat song, thanks. I miss Dockers. I don't think we have them over here. They last forever, don't they!

Anyone remember when there was a Levi's commercial featuring "Pressure Point" by the Zutons? [Man steals his own jeans from lover's house, mean-looking dog takes them back, or something.] Loved that song--not much going on in it, but it had a great feel--and I ran out and bought the CD. Turned out it was a pretty wimpy album. I'm really glad iTunes exists now.
