Thinking about acquiring a video camera and was just wondering what others used to record their live show with.
A buddy of mine used to have a Sharp Mini DV vidcam and the sound quality was incredible. The built in mic picked up everything perfectly and was never overdriven. Picture quality was good too.
But Sharp stopped making vidcams and you can't find any of the model he used.

So what have you got or been recorded with and how did it do?

Nothing so far, really. We did record our second gig but it was with a terrible and old-fashioned device. Where you pointed the mic, that's what sound you got \:\) So if it was away from me, no bass. Pointed at me, only bass. Etc.

Our lead guitarist has a cam which he says captures shows perfectly. Yet he failed to bring it along for both shows we did with him so far I'll check and see what exactly it is and get back to you.
