I havenīt problems of lack of bottom end with my black russian Big Muff Pi. Only past the 3 o clock Tone knob the low freq dissapear.
My question is that I found a nice setting when I play alone, suppose the three knobs at 12 o clock. Good tone, bassy, creamy, good control of feedback, matched volume engaged/disengaged. Good for a solo or start of a song. But when I play with all the band playin at the same time, the fuzz disappear in the context, and I need more volume. So, I end dialing the three knobs to the insane 3 o clock situation.
It is normal? I fine tune my ears hearing some pros recordings that have mild grit to fuzzy bass tunes, and the bass is in the front soloed, and blended in the background with a full band situation.

I have a Little Big Muff, and have noticed the same thing. I set a sound that I liked at home (and tested it at a pretty high volume). It didn't sound fuzzy to me live, and sounded like the bass just dropped out of the mix.

I was not able to see if it sounded fuzzy in the audience when I used it (I couldn't leave the band area to hear it for myself) and the room we were playing was not a good room for us acoustically. Lastly, I don't have lots of sizzly horns in my cabs to help create the "buzzsaw" effect.

I have noticed that this happens a bit with my SansAmp on a fuzz setting, so I've wondered if it's partially the rest of my signal chain. I don't need the fuzz, so I've avoided it.

I'll have to try it live with my BenLoy bass (instead of my active Kinal) and see what happens. I'll also try to have a bassist in the room when I do so I can tell if it's a "stage phenomenon" or if it's something else.

I tried the Big Muff Pi and wasn't impressed. I think my Boss ODB3 sounds better. And it definitely cuts through live. People go nuts when we play "Sabotage".

One of these will solve all your problems. You can get the same Big Muff Pi sounds but retain low end and in most cases actually gain some low end. Plus you can get other sounds that the Big Muff can't even begin to approach.

Wow, a big Muff. I had one of those when I was playing guitar back in high school. That was it the late seventies. They still make those things? Anyway, I think you're Losing the fuzz tone because you're blending in with the guitars. Try tweaking your EQ.

Great pedal but not everyone has the $300+ USD to buy one of these. Not really a simple solution fix. Have you tried boosting the mids on your amp? Plus it also depends on the eq of the guitar(s)and as someone has mentioned you might be blending in too much with them.

Set the Big Muff on the side of a cliff than carefully kick it over the edge.

May be my english is a little confuse.
Iīm not talking about a war o fuzz pedals, and the EH Black Big Muff are awesome for me. Iīm asking about differences in volume/settings when you play soloed or in a context of full band sound.

I love the older EH black Muff, but I was having somewhat similar issues -- while playing with the band (I'm in a rock three-piece) at volume, I either lost the lows, or, by turning everything up, the highs became very mosquito-y, almost brittle.

The guitar player in the band is a tinkerer, so he took the pedal apart and did some resoldering / tinkering. I'm not exactly sure what he did, but it sounds great now -- exactly what I wanted. The lows are fuzzed out, punchy and resonant, and the highs are sufficiently distorted while still maintaining tonal stability.
