I brought my blue Blade back to Ottawa, leaving the red one in Kitchener at my bud's.

I used it at the jam Thursday, and its boutique sweetness hit me like a brick! I can't believe I've not played it in so long! The neck, fit, and execution far exceed anything else I own, and the electronics are ingenious. I can't understand how these didn't catch on. IMHO they are the guitar world's best kept secret.

I've bought a number of guitars since in search of something better. Conclusion: nothing better exists, AFAIC. The Godins are great workhorses. The V and LP are more about specific vibes and tones than playability. The ESP is almost there. The Warmouth is a fine Strat, but just a different flavor. The LP Jr on layaway is about the P90 and stripped down simplicity.

The only guitar to wow me as much was Rob's Tom Anderson, and I hope I remember just how great I've got it now next time a shiny new something or other looms on the horizon. I've got my dream axes. Time to quit dreaming, and once again play the hell out of 'em.

I always like the V's looks but it's a bitch to practise with sitting on a chair. :-)

I'm certainly impressed by the Levinson Blade middle pup I had on the Frankenstrat - so much so I'm replacing the body on the Double Fat Strat with a black alder Squier Standard item to match the neck, and I'm doing a Black on Black SSS edition \:D

How about some pics of it, Reif? I've heard of them, but don't know if I've ever seen one.

I've played a few; very nice, well-made, high quality and precision. I used to know a guy who had two or three (not simultaneously), the only problem he ever had was with one that had a highly figured maple neck that was prone to some fairly subtle but troublesome twisting and warping that changed with the weather. (He had bought it used, IIRC, but I think that the shop where he had purchased it took care of him. He bought another Levinson-Blade after that, as well.)

Only got a couple crappy pics of it - gotta make more. Here's a silly pic of the red one.

It's such a shame; no one I know has ever been able to sell one for anywhere near as much as it's worth. They're like American made G & L's, really great guitars, but unless you find a very savvy buyer, they go begging in the streets 'cause they don't say "Fender".

The sax is brass, and really adds sustain! \:D

Seriously, there ain't a lot of these older ones out there. If ya see one, spend an hour with it. Don't let on ya know what a gem it is, and if the vendor doesn't know, ya might make one of the best guitar scores of your life. If ya pass on it and it's cheap, I'd love to hear about it. These really are special.
