I guess it never dawned on me just how many great tunes that dude has written. A few years ago I caught a concert of his on TV, and to hear them all played one right after the other was a revelation...
I DVR'd it...so I'm watching again today.......killer guitar tones. He plays really good filler licks...I always thought he just strummed it and let the lead player hrow down........I guess he is the lead player LOL!! This show is good!
Yeah keep an eye open...it's MTV so it should come up.

I saw a broadcast of one of his shows a little while ago at my brothers house(it might have been the same show,I'm not sure). I was suprised at his guitar playing also. I know Creedence had another guitar player(John's brother?), and I always assumed he was the lead player. Anyway, I made a comment about John playing some decent lead guitar and I didn't know he did any of that. My brother said he was pretty sure John played all the leads with Creedence, and the other guy was the "rhythm" guitarist. Don't know for sure if it's true or not, but he's a great singer and songwriter IMO. I never realised how many songs they did that I really dug untill recently when I bought a "best of" type cd from iTunes. It's 20 tracks and every song is fantastic.
"Bad Moon Rising" was one of the first 45's (remember those!? ) that I can remember listening to. One of our uncles had it and my brother & I about wore it out. My parents had "Uncle Cosmos Factory", and we about wore it out, too. Can't think of a Fogerty song that I don't like, solo or CCR! I didn't realize either that he did alot or most of the solos. Very, VERY, tasteful player!!
