Hello All!

I applaud GP for the Shop Talk page in the back of June's issue. I immediately ordered the 4 500k push/pull pots off the internet. I have Duncan p/u's in my 1994 LP Standard, JB in the bridge and Jazz in the neck position(s).

I absolutely LOVE this mod. I build my own electrics through the help of Warmoth just so I can have something that I can put a bunch of switches, knobs, etc.. to obtain different tones. And without bastardizing a Fender or Gibson to the point of uncollectability.

IF you do this mod to your Gibson you MUST - keep the original P/U's, pots and keep them handy in case you ever go and sell your LP. I know I'll be corrected if I'm wrong here, but keeping all your original parts with your axe is smart. I know it may sound redundant, but do not get rid of the old parts.

I have many guitars and now I find myself playing my LP everyday for an hour or two. I can't set the thing down. The different sounds you get from your Paul will amaze you. And it'll inspire you too!

If you're in a guitar rut and feel uninspired on your Les Paul, get yourself some new pick ups, (4 conductor wires), some push/pull pots. And prepare yourself for a truly unique experience. And while you're at it get the TonePros Model TP6 and tailpiece. (Doesn't hurt to try and reach tone Utopia)

Thank you GP for a very cool and bona fide guitar mod.

Cool! Unfortunately, my stock pickups do NOT have the necessary number of wires, and I'm not in a big hurry to swap 'em- even for the same type with the two extra wires, if available! \:D

Maybe I'll eventually get around to trying some different pickups, and pots, caps, resistors, as well as this particular wiring-mod.

Or, maybe there's another axe altogether in my future that'll get the treatment...

In any case, glad that worked so much to your liking, plank; I think that you should copy-&-paste that post over onto the Guitar Player Forum here at MusicPlayer/Guitar Player, as well- it'd be welcome reading and discourse to the regulars over there!
