Hi brothers & sisters,

I am a very happy owner of an RD700GX. Great action, love many of the sounds. I am wondering if there is a decent set of bluetooth headphones I can use instead of my regular Sonys? I have been looking at the Sony DRBT50s. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Peace~

Rich

how far you usually walk away from your keyboard when you playing?

BT headsets may (or may not) have latency. I remember reading a user review mentioning a huge latency with a Logitech headset.

Hadn't any experience with such headphones, though.

BUT. I'm 100% sure no BT headset will sound close to top of the line AKG, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamics.

You've spent a lot of money on best keyboard out there. Now you're gonna connect it to average-sounding headphones?

I use my studio-grade AKG's with Roland digital piano, and while the cable is there, it doesn't bother or restrict me. I don't understand why would you spend money on BT headphones instead of best Beyerdynamics or similar..

I use wireless and love it, even though it's a compromise. I hate to be tethered in the first place, and when I'm working on guitar parts it's even worse (having TWO tethers).

But I don't use bluetooth, and I wouldn't be surprised to find it has unacceptable latency for monitoring music while playing. That was a very good point to raise.

FWIW I have a set of digital wireless Pioneer headphones and they add an unacceptable amount of latency when playing piano.

Thanks for the responses. I do have a nice set of studio Sony's but I don't like the cord getting in the way especially when I switch to guitar or bass during recording. I'm really looking for something that I can use while laying down tracks rather than mixing/mastering for which I do use the studio headphones and some good monitors.

The latency thought is a very good point that I had not considered.

I would love to hear from anyone who has tried blue tooth.

Thanks again!

There are consumer UHF headphones - same technology as used in wireless in-ear monitors. They should be [almost] latency-free, and stable, tuning-wise. Don't take my words for absolutely right, though, I might be wrong about the UHF.
