last night was my 20 yr anniversary at my job. there was a dinner at the Old Orchard Inn for all the 20 yr employees. free drinks before we even got in the dining area.
it was a great meal in a cool place overlooking the Valley.
the wife and i had a great time. our other guitar player was celebrating his 20 yrs as well. doesn't seem like 20 yrs have passed.
only 10 more to go.....

Most people don't get the chance to stay with one company for 20 years anymore. They're downsized or the company outsources and jobs go away. That's assuming you want to work for a company for 20 years. ;\)

Congratulations!

Awesome accomplishment, Zan. You've obviously got what it takes to go the distance!!

My wish for you is that, after making it thru the first 20, the final 10 years will be like coasting!!

Wow, you mean there are still people who keep a job for 20 years?

20 years is a nice stretch...takes some conviction to hang that long...but then, it also counts for something if the work is good.

I'm just heading into my 13th year (actually, May 15 is the exact day I started)...working for the same basic "employer"...but I've worked my way through 2 different divisions and 4 different departments during that time.

Congratulations on your first score of years, 'Zan; here's to the next three and then-some, so that you can say at your big speech when they give you the gold watch (ehrr, gold Strat, I mean): "Four-score 'n' sev'n yeeerz agoo, I's jammin' onna b!tch!n' git-tar, fatty! I saw the bes' minds o' my gen'ration tore-up by th' awful scourge o' G.A.$...." \:D

Seriously, congratulations, sir!

There's a vicious rumor to that effect, but I, for one, don't believe it!

Seriously, congrats, Zan!

Congrats, 'Zan! That is quite an accomplishment. Here's to the next 10!

May 18th I will have been in the construction equipment rental business for 20 years. But I have been with 3 different companies in that 20 years span. Been almost 8 years at my current one, and have no intentions of going anywhere in the foreseeable future.
