So my buddy plays a MEAN slide, like he really does. And, I had a cool idea, a slide holder. Do they make these? If not I'm gonna make one, small wooden box with his initials on them. Sounds nice, and cool.

There is a slide holder that clamps on a mic stand and I believe there's also one that clamps on the headstock of a guitar.
Making a unique custom design sounds like a great idea though, he must be a good friend!

I've tried out a bunch of slides over the past several months, since fulfilliing some National Resonator GAS. I just recieved a couple of slides from Ian McWee of Diamond Bottlenecks. Ian's a great guy, and I've had a lot of fun e mailing back and forth with him. I got two slides, and so far their Ultimate in emerald green is my fav.
Check out their slides...maybe there is something suitable for a gift for your buddy.

A year or two ago someone on here posted a pic of his box of slides... (I think) I've been looking but I can't find it...
"Oh mystery slide dude... you know who you are... Can you post that again?"
It was a pretty cool wood box FILLED with different slides... Anyone else remember it?

Now, those slides are cool! Cooler than those picks made from meteorites i found online! But thanks guys, trying to make one now, gonna find a little box maybe at a craft store.

Another idea might be to find a cool cedar cigar box to make into a slide container. Your local cigar store may have a bunch you could choose from, that they might otherwise throw out.

mdrs, that is a cool idea! I should even check out gun shops, maybe for like bullet cases, who knows?

Plus he loves those Coricidin Slides, or whatever they are, they rock, so I gotta get him one. Be nice to give him in the case
