Well, tell us all about it!
How was it? Did you get to meet or even play with any of the other finalists, or anybody from GP?
Did you or (anybody else) play with a back-up group of any kind? (Was one available?) Just how was everything done?

First off, the back up band was jude gold (a ridiculous guitar hero in his own right), Ernie Rideout (keyboard player mag editor) on keys and a great bassist and drummer (can't remember their names sorry). Great band to play with, really amped up my tune. It would have been nice to play with the other finalists, but we all arrived later on the first day, so we just hung out and talked shop. The next day was rainy, so we all pretty much hung out at the music hall and checked out each other's sound check. Everyone was great, I got to meet Satch, Nuno, Greg, Luke and all the guys. All were very nice...Luke was crazy haah! It was a great experience to know that I've got what it takes to play up to a high level under the pressure.

(By the way- a belated "welcome to tha Guitar Player Forum", Chris!)
A great back-up band, and a great confidence-builder, too! (And not too shabby an addition to the resume, I'd bet!)  
And it must've been great meeting everyone listed there, both the other finalists, MP-staffers, and the celebrijudges and everybody.
Was Elliot Easton there? I see he was listed as a panelist; he's probably my overall favorite- if you can really pick one- of those known players listed as judges. Man, he always seemed able to just nail a perfect solo or fill for a given song!
And, yeah, I've had the impression that Mr. Gold is an excellent and vibey player, as well!

yes Easton was there, and also Mike Varney. Very cool. I think Easton had some funny almost "I'm just a simple caveman" lines regarding the Neo Classical player Taka. Taka did a great YJM kind of tune, and Elliot said "I just don't understand this speed thing, is it anger? Joy? Pain? I don't know?" It was kind of the I'm just a simple rockabilly tinged hybrid picker haah! Thanks for the welcome. If you'd like to check out some of my tunes I'll post a link.

I think ya aughtta; maybe put 'em (links) in your signature-line (so they'll be there at the bottom of any and every post you post, post-post, as it were)... 
Plus, there's a music-sticky (a thread for member's music clips, stuck permanently) near the top of the 1st 'page of this forum, too.
Consider yourself invited to post some links, anyways! 
As for EE, he's posted a lot over on the Les Paul Forum, and always came off as a friendly, disarming, laid-back kinda one-o'-the-guys kinda guy who is also an real guitar nut- in all the best ways.
