Well, my mom is no longer with us, but the wife and I are going to New York state to spend time with our daughter, her husband and his family.
The son in law just got his masters degree so...the party is on! \:\) \:D

Happy mother's day to all.

Randy

The whole family is getting together on Sunday at my parent's place. It's been a while since we've all been together...I'm really looking forward to it.

My 84 yo Dad and 80 yo Mom drove up from Florida, arriving last Thursday, a week ago. They'll be here until Sunday, when they leave to drive back home.

Mom, my wife, and my mother in law already got their flowers. I think I'm treating to a nice dinner out tomorrow night.

It's such a blessing to have Mom and Dad here for 9 days. I can't think of a better way to celebrate Mother's day.

Well, Don, my family is getting together. I don't know if we will be taking Mom out to dinner or bringing some pizza home. They'll be 10 of us, including her grandchildren who are 10, 9, 4 and 2.

I didn't know what to get her, so I am giving her some money so she can pick out what she wants. She'll be 73 next month and she has a lot of stuff. I'm even thinking of getting out the guitar and playing a simple song for her.

Even though she drives me crazy sometimes, I'm really very lucky to have had her around for so long. My mom was only 9 years old when her mother passed away at age 49.

Michelle,

I can't think of a better gift than a song...especially if you sing it for your Mom.

Have a great Mother's Day!!

I waking my wife up on Sunday by playing "Honest I Do" by Jimmy Reed...

Other than that it looks like a trip to NH to visit the mother in-law...

Have no clue yet as to what I am going to get the wife...my wife enjoys things thought about and planned out. Doesn't like last minute things just to get something, have to work on this today...

Well, here is England we've already celebrated it (Mothers' Day here is different day) but my wife being American - maybe she deserves two mothers' days.

Why not wake her up singing "BABE" by Styx?

Probably won't do alot. A little yard work in the morning, then go to the in-laws for a bit, then on to my parents later in the day. My wife has pneumonia this week and probably won't want to do too much. She needs to rest up for our Disneyland vacation the 18th - 24th.

Don, that is awesome that your parents are driving up from Florida. I sure hope that I can be that active when I am in my 80's. My maternal grandparents are both in their mid 80's and still get around like that. As a matter of fact, they both had full time jobs till about 2-3 years ago. It sure is a blessing for my kids to have all but one set of great-grandparents and for them to really know them.

Just finishing up mom's present. Revamped the kitchen, new stainless steel fridge/freezer, tiled floor, walls painted in old eurpean styling. Possibly a new stove still, seeing how the old one looks like crap now compared to everything else being redone. Tak'n the GF and 2 youngest to the Zoo and relax'n all day outside.

Well, that all depends on what Mom feels like doing then! \:D

It's kinda up-in-the-air, but I will be visiting...

I don't suppose she wants a low-watt, easily-overdriven all-tube boutique-ish specimen of an amp...

(Mom prefers cleaner, crisper yet warm, classic vintage Country & Western tones... ) ;\) \:D

My mom passed away in '83, but we made sure to send cards to some of the OTHER moms we know... I guess it wouldn't hurt to call my sisters and stepmom on that day... even if my dad did like to refer to her as my "wicked stepmother".

Mom DID love music and always encouraged me, in spite of me playing electric guitar real loud and out of tune some weekend nights... the cops grew to know us by name!

My Mom passed awhile ago, but I definitely have her on my mind alot and Mother's Day will be no exception.

Will celebrate with my wife and Mother-in-law. All Ralph Kramden, Fred Flinstone, M.I.L. jokes aside I'm pretty grateful to have my mother -in law around.

The moms requested lobster for dinner, so tomorrow AM will have
to purchase some and then later boil them alive and hear them squeal with horror before we enjoy their deliciousness. ;\)

Ricky...if you need any, er, help with the lobsters, I'm available!! \:\)

I took my Mom and Dad, and my wife and two sons (the third is in Boston \:\( ) out to a nice dinner last night. Today we're laying low. I'll grill burgers/dogs tonight.

My parents are actually leaving to make the two day drive back home to Florida on Mother's Day (ie tomorrow).

I made a toast to my Mom and wife, and told them both how much I appreciated them and loved them last night.

I would like to salute all of the guys and gals out there who actually have to work on Mother's Day.....hang in there, and celebrate TODAY!!
