I will be building corner bass traps using 2" 703 to treat a 12'W x26'L x10'H theater/studio.
My question is:
-Is it a good idea to fill the air space behind the 703 with Ultratouch R-13?
-Is it a good idea to fill the cavity completely with the ultratouch or just use 1 layer to still leave a gap between the wall and the trap.
- Would I be better off using 4" 705 FRK and forget about the ultratouch.

I have alot of Ultratouch leftover so I'm looking for ways to use it!

Thanks for your brilliance!

Sure.

Filling the space is better.

Either way works well. If cost is a concern, it's better to have more 4-inch traps straddling corners than fewer filled corners.

In that case use it to fill the corners.

I had great trouble cutting my ultratouch panels. Have you tried cutting it already? What did you use to cut it?

I am thinking that I just had trouble cutting the ultratouch because i was using R-30.

thanks for the reply Ethan!

Jeff,
I wasn't planning on cutting it, just going to stuff and fold it behind the 703. Although I find that it does pull apart pretty easily in the r-13. Also I have the 16" batts as opposed to the 2' since I was using this between floor joists.
