Hi there crew. \:D

I picked up a new pick up for the bridge position on one of my strats today.
It's a Seymour Duncan JB Jr for Strat.

The Strat Plus that I bought new in 1989 had Lace Sensors in it but they were too microphonic, so I replaced them several years ago.

I put SD's Duck Buckers in the neck and middle and a Hot Rails in the bridge position.
Great sound but GEEZ...that hot rails is relentless and really limits some of my playing on that strat.

So today, I figured...what the hell, let's try something new. \:D

Any of you pickers out there have any experience with the SD JB Jr.?

Just curious.

Thanks. \:\)

Randy

I put a JB Jr. in the bridge position on my G&L S-500 custom shop (basically a Strat). It was terrific. On Strat-style guitars, I rarely go to the bridge pup becuase I find them to shrill and bite-y sounding. This thickened the tone and was a great place to go during the last half of a solo, when I wanted to supercharge it -- especially with a wah...

I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my Custom Shop strat -- with a SD Lil'59 (just a little mellower than the JB Jr.) but the guys here have convinced me to live with it a little before I do that...(and they're right.)

Good luck!

Rob

No, sorry. I've used (and liked) their hot strat and their vintage strat pups but not the ones you mention.

I've got the following SD's in my Strat (pictured to the left) JB Jr. in the bridge, Quarter pound for Strat in middle and Lil '59 in neck position. Sounds AWESOME with a maple neck. Really good bite. PUP selector position 4 is really a favorite for me. Great through a Tube Screamer.

Got to check it out last night late for about 5 minutes.

WOW, great improvement!

No more scratchy and distorted when you've got your amp set on clean.
Just a nice, full, solid sound! \:\)

OK, I'm happy. \:\)
