Last month I bought Al Di Meola Live at Montreux 1986…and now I can’t stop to see such a kind of performance playing alone. I had forgotten about him last years but this dvd made me remind Al and the influence he made for instance on Petrucci style and thousands of others.

Is there any particular dvd you’d recommend?

(Hey, nice to see you all again!)

Second the Luke/Carlton DVD -- spectacular! Robben Ford has a New Morning DVD that is also amazing.

Tommy Emmanuel Live at her Majesty's Theatre in Australia is also superb...

ABB, Live at the Beacon -- After watching this, I just get that "what an excellent band" feeling. Totally pro performance by totally pro musicians. Gregg Allman's voice isn't what it used to be but still good enough.

SRV, Live at El Macombo -- If this isn't the performance of his lifetime, I don't know what is. An excellent example of a GREAT PERFORMER who throws it all out there.

The Who, Isle of Wight -- It says on my DVD that they played for 600,000 people that day! Can you imagine that? 600,000 people? Great DVD.. lots of high energy and talent.

Jimi, Live at Montreaux... Jimi's big debut in the U.S.

WHOA - There are some great ones on this list. Looks like GP deliberately left out U2's Under a Blood Red Sky DVD and included their later convert tour video. I would still recommend the earlier video if you are a fan of the Edge.

Hi Dr. Ellwood --

Thanks for asking. The answer is the same as always -- Yes! (When it comes to doing gigs, I'm like a moth to the flame, as they say.)

You can see some listings at myspace.com/judegold. Seattle, Vancouver this weekend ....

And you? Rockin' the house? (Aren't people gonna cyberslap us for veering off topic on this thread?!?)

I'll 'cover my butt' by recommending a cool new concert DVD to everybody:

Pat Metheny
Imaginary Day Live

It's a good one to have, especially for Clapton fans, not sure why I got it......LOL......er.........aaaah he's okay, I kid only ......I think you will like it . It is not a very energetic performance, it is like a rehearsal in front of a few people. But it is a nice journey back to a better time. Go get it Doc, place that order.
