This hasn't quite made it to the web site, but in the new issue, there is the monthly "How to Play Like" and this month its Tommy Bolin. I wanted to thank GP for still covering his music. However,
I am going to be disappointed if the web version of the article omits any MP3s to accompany the article, especially considering the varied sounds he was able to get from his guitar, whammy bar, and echoplex. I say this based on the fact that previous "How to Play Like" articles on the web site have all excluded any lesson audio clips. Even so, this is a great chance to revisit (or discover) Tommy Bolin's music.

I don't think it's a matter of Tommy not having fans here, I think the message is more of a question to the GP staff about how they are going to handle possible MP3's to enhance the article? At least that's how I took it, it was more of a direct statement, rather than a call for conversation about Tommy? I for one have always been a fan of Tommy's, loved his playing and have learned and performed tons of his and DP's material. So I just think there was some confusion starting out on this?

I respect Tommy Bolin quite a lot (in fact, that was the first article I jumped to read as soon as the magazine arrived). Truth is, I am not all that familiar with his music, just like what little I've heard (I have the Archives 2 disc, and I've heard some of Teaser, which strangely seems to be out of print domestically). I'm glad that GP dedicated so much space to this great player.
Any suggestions for a CD to pick up (keep in mind I can't buy 'em all and break the non-existent bank)?
