Hey, I've been look to get a new set of tuning machines for my strat and need some insight. I've looked at a few big name sites and can't find what im looking for. I know the style i'm looking for has either pearloid or white buttons and is sort of "vintage" looking. I'm replacing my old set because of tuning problems. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Derrick

Well, these are vintage/period-correct and authentic, even if they don't have pearloid, ivoroid, or other white buttons:

___________ Kluson “6 in line” tuners by TonePros (That's a link)

________

...And here're their locking versions of the same:

________

You could also swing by the tuners for solid headstocks 'page on the Stewart-MacDonald 'site, to see if there's anything there that you like; and they also carry replacement buttons and other tuner parts...

Keep us posted on what you do!

I've been trying to look for what I described from fender because I know i've seen these on some of the custom shop strats.

Well, they're likely similar or identical to the ones I pictured above, but with different buttons stuck on them.

Maybe these Mustang/Musicmaster/Duo Sonic tuners would fit- I don't know if they're interchangeable between Strats/Teles and Mustangs/Musicmasters/Duo Sonics (the latter probably featured cheaper tuners overall)...

Then again, maybe they're essentially the same, with the exception of the buttons.

Either way, I think you'd do better to go with those higher quality TonePros/Klusons, and have different buttons put on 'em if you want.

So, Derrick... are those (above) more to your liking? Will they fit your Strat?
