First off - great forum with a lot of good info. I always appreciate all of the great info Ethan provides all over the web.

I'm planning to build several treatments out of OC703 this weekend - some are superchunk traps for corners and some are going to be pieces of OC703 on the walls for treating first reflections.

My basic plan for all of these is to frame them with wood and wrap them with muslin or some similar affordable fabric. I've also seen a few people mention placing a layer of polyester batting between the fabric and the fiberglass to reduce the risk of fibers getting into the air. I'd consider doing this, because one of the corner traps will be moved now and then, but I'm wondering if it would have any impact on the effectiveness of the traps. Would it be OK on either my superchunk traps or my first reflection panels? Any specific batting I should go for if so?

Another thing that occurred to me is that compressed fiberglass leaves a lot of surface area for dust to settle. Is there a good way to combat this? Do you guys vacuum your panels? This doesn't quite sound safe to me either \:\) I have pretty bad dust allergies so trying to see how to minimize troubles.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

A layer of cotton batting will not harm the absorption, and I imagine its absorption is similar to fiberglass anyway.
