I just saw the following in today's Metro:

"Statistics
2,200 acre fungus
The largest living thing on earth is the Honey Fungus (Armillaria ostoye) in eastern Oregon. Growing mainly underground, it's estimated to cover 2,200 acres, be at least 2,400 years old and weigh 150 tons."
--------
It's a lesson in humility to us guitarists. After all, you may be the biggest and baddest picker on the block, but are you the LARGEST LIVING THING ON EARTH?? (Although you may indeed be an underground artist....)
--------
OK, this is silly, but no sillier than a lot of the other crapola I see in the news!

Interesting. I remember a few years back they said something similar was underground somewhere in the New England area and was several states in size. I also heard that at one time the largest growing single organism was a grove of Aspen trees near Crested Butte, Colorado. All the trees in the grove originated from the roots of one tree. I'm not sure how this relates to guitar playing... but it is interesting!

So I guess the think to do is to make the World's Largest Pizza and get in the Guinness Book of World Records.

At least it would benefit the tomato farmers and cheese makers!
