Now this one is kinda cool:

Don't know if I'd actually own one, but I kinda like it. Even with the 24 fret neck, which for some reason, I've never been a fan of, especially on a Gibson.

My son loves V's. I'm really not much of a fan, but that one is cool.

Gibson, so close... yet so far away. That should be their motto.

That neck is right. Finally, they got the flying V neck right. Why for the love of god did they stick it on that body?

Gibson, if you are listening...
24 fret neck
Ebony fingerboard
diamond inlays
Neck, headstock, and body binding
Figured maple top in translucent black
Mahogany neck and body.
TWO HUMBUCKERS!!!
NO BODY HOLES!!!

Sorry for the outburst everyone.

They need to stop taking crazy pills over there at Gibson. Another weird one from GOTM.

Yeah... so close, yet SO far. Why only one HB?!!! That one just boggles the mind.

And... again showing my ignorance... what does "GOTM" stand for?

Sometimes, I look at the Gibson company and just shake my head. Who is driving that ship?

Gibson Of The Month.

Every month, Gibson unleashes a special edition instrument in limited quantities. Read more here...

The Holy V I can kind of appreciate. But this redefines fugly. Again. Like the Reverse V did not too long ago.

To be fair though, some of the Gibson models which are now considered "classics", SUCH AS the Flying V, did not sell very well when first released. Presumably, people back then had the same reactions as you are having now?

Personally, I don't like the Holy V, simply because it looks like a normal guitar that somemody hacked up. It's an indecisive, "I want to but I can't" look.

Perhaps if they'd played on the whole "Meccano" look of the guitar and put more metal on the body, it would have looked cooler.

Possible advantages:

* You can keep your tuner and your pick box in the body holes and save room in the case. (Cue Neil showing us photos of his 45 gallon drum full of assorted picks to prove he couldn't fit ALL his picks in there ;\) )

* You can have many hours of fun using it as a maze for small rodents.

* Possibility of finding new and creative ways of hanging the guitar on a wall stand.
