OK, this is a live recording from last weekend with my present band... the recording is kind of assy (I actually have no idea who recorded it or what they used!), but you can definitely hear the tone of my Esquire Tele popping out. I'm the one doing the guitar leads and the vocals.
Make with the clicking....
Enjoy!

Thanks very much... I hadn't expected a RATM comparison, but that's a good band, so... thanks again!

Just kinda, in the funky metaly blues kind of way. Although you guys are heavier sounding with a bit of stoney jazzy rock funkadunk going on. I dig it.

Had to use my imagination a bit due to the recording quality, but I definitely dig that lead sound.
And this is that dinged, "beaver chewed" guitar you got for the huge discount?? Such a deal! Sheesh for playing in a heavy, dangerous sounding band like that, a ding seems like it would be something you'd actually want on your guitar.
Yeah, sorry about the quality... I didn't even know we were recording, so I was just pleased we had this recording at all. It's pretty boomy.
But yes, that's the "beaver-chewed" Tele... glad you dig the tone! The good thing about playing with dangerous folks like these is that I really don't worry about anyone or anything messing with our gear... the dings just sorta arrive on their own.

OK, I get ya... this song sorta falls into the more "mainstream" part of our tunes... the rest of it's more typically "stoner."

Erik - That is way cool (and I am not usually a fan of "heavy" music). The guitar sounds great, but what I was more impressed with is the vocals. To me you kind of sound like a cross between Gene Simmons and Lemmy (which is a good thing in my book. ).
Your vocals & guitar sound definitely work well with this music.

Yeeeeeeeah, that Esquire does scream in a good, fat, loud, not at all tinny way!
Gotta ask ya, what was the fuzz?

Real nice, dug the song and the guitar tones. You guys bring the rock. Killer playing too on that solo. Wish a little more of the bass came through on the recording. Not bad drumming either.

Thanks for the kind words, fellers... Gene Simmons and Lemmy?
I couldn't be more pleased at that compliment!
Dan... I know... the recording (mixed with the way I vocalize) don't lend themselves to great clarity. I actually like these lyrics, too... that's why I included them on the page.
Most people don't believe me when I tell them I'm using a Z. Vex Fuzz Factory for my fuzz--I think folks have this impression that the Fuzz Factory is only good for weird noises. I dunno... I think it's a really usable fuzz.

Massive drums. I like his playing. Nice lead tone, sounds pretty meat & potatoes.

Unlike my son, I'm not into the screaming type of singing, but I was definitely getting into the rest of it. It was a bit too short in my opinion.

Ooh... Sabbath and Kyuss... right on! Thanks.
I agree about the Fuzz Factory. While they can sound thin and trebley, they can also sound nice and juicy, too... it's all a matter of how you dial them in with your amp. And yeah, I think the Marshall does have a bit to do with that.
Caprae, I get ya... I'm sorta vocally challenged--my range is really limited, so I'll tend to belt or bellow in order to get something approximating the correct notes. That comes out kind of screamy. And yer right--this is one of our shorter songs. I just figured I'd put one of the short ones up for this group. That way, even if everyone hated it, they'd only be listening for a bit more than three minutes anyway.

Through my laptop speakers it rocks!
Cool recording and definitely a great tone for the music despite being played on a country/rockabilly guitar!

Clutch, too, huh? That's also a hell of a compliment--thanks!
Hey, thanks for the kind words, Neil... the recording is a little dubious, but it's a bonus as far as I am concerned, since it was free.

I'd hafta say so, after hearing yours in action there with your Esquire and Marshall!
And I dug the lyrics, too. You write 'em, Erik?

Thanks, bro! I wrote these lyrics with our bassist one day while fooling around with riffs at his place. They were based on some of his stoned, rambling writings we found in a notebook... he had some of the key ideas and phrases in there, and I kinda messed with them, worked my mojo... and that's what we got.
I kinda like that there's no chorus... but there are hooky elements to the song without a big, sing-along part.
