I was looking if there was a thread on this already but I couldn't find any. Basically I want to use the vst's in my laptop but sync it via midi to my desktop making the laptop a slave. (laptop is faster then desktop so using laptop vst instruments would be highly efficient)
Anyone have any info on how to do this?

Treat your laptop like a midi module and you'll be fine.

You have a controller going to your PC and passing midi info thru your DAW to your midi devices, be it hardware modules or soft synths. Patch the midi outs to midi ins and the audio outputs from your laptop audio interface to your mixer and off you go.
