hi, im about to do some acoustic treatment in my futur studio. The room is 18.5 X 14 foot, but on one of the 14 foot wall, there is a huge windows, about 10 foot. I would like to know how different frequency are dealing with that medium and what should i do with it? I mean, im i better to put the speaker and listening position along with the 18.5 wall in front of the windows ignoring the advice in "how to setup a listening room" or can i work something for the windows if i put the speaker in the standart listening position?
thx you, ive read "Acoustic Treatment and Design for Recording Studios and Listening Rooms", it's by far the best article ive found on the web, thx you for that!
Frank

I just logged on with the intention of asking the same question!

In my case, I have two big windows, and they have vertical blinds. Might these blinds diffuse things enough if they are closed or almost closed?

Cheers!
Bill

I suggest you set up facing that window. Your speakers face the other way, so 1) they fire the long way down the room (good), and 2) they fire away from the window (also good). It's a win-win.

It's always best to have the speakers fire the long way down the room. Then put absorption at the first reflection points wherever they end up.
