Hi everybody,

Maybe some of you had allready thought about using pallets as absorber frame, BTW I will soon try and post some pictures when finished ... ;o)

In my company, we are throwing them away ! And to my surprise, dimensions are 2' x 4' !!

The main problem with using wooden pallets would be the extra wood going across the front and back of the panel. That could be a lot of surface area being blocked. Anyways putting together a wooden frame out of 1"x4" pieces of wood takes about 10 minutes(most places will cut the wood for free). The cloth is the annoying part for me.

Hi Jeff,
I agree with you for the extra wood across the front pallet and for sure, I will remove it. But concerning wood on the back there is no reason to remove it, and at the opposite, it will help fix the panel on the wall !!

Actually having the wood on the back is bad also. You want an air gap behind your panels. And wood on the back will give you an air gap of zero inches.

Hi Jeff,

It will have a gap at the back as I do not intend to fill all the pallet. It is 8" deep and I am to fill with 4" rigid fiberglass => air gap = 4".
