This is my first post here and there's a question that's been bothering me for a while now. Why is it when people discuss DAW's or put out a survey (such as the one on EM Magazine's site) that Audition seems to not even be thought about.
I've been a musician for 20 years but only recently began recording at home with my computer picking up one piece at a time. I was always a big fan of adobe products and came across Audition and found it super intuitive and perfect for my needs.
Now that I'm beginning to learn mastering I find that no one even mentions audition. Is it so inferior that it's not considered professional grade? or is it just a niche group of users?
I'd like to master my music with the best possible results and I find Pro-Tools to be infuriating to use. What should I consider using if I'm comfortable with the Audition interface?
Didn't that used to be Cool Edit Pro? I've used it before and it was pretty awesome. Had everything you needed for great sound, a lot of Pro-Looking stuff. It was a bootleg copy though so my computer eventually caught the mother of all Trojan-Horse viruses and just lost it completely. But, yeah, great program as long as your sound card is decent and you can work all the buttons and knobs.
