I've just received a notice from Keyboard Magazine, that it's time to renew. The letter offers me a great deal: "$15.00 per year". It also offers 2 and 3 year packages at a little bit better price as you increase the time commitment.
Here's what I don't understand: Every issue has at least one blow-in card (sometimes as many as 3-6) and it offers me Keyboard Magazine for $12.00 a year? Uh......what's up with that? A new subscriber gets a better deal than a confirmed customer, that is already happily enjoying the magazine, as an existing subscriber?
I may wait until my sub runs out and just send in the card. I've only gotten 9 issues so far and it took almost 3 months to get the first one and then I was not sent my 2nd monthly issue ever. I gave up e-mailing your subscription department about it. I got very little response, if ever.
Please try to let me know what this is all about. I think I'd rather save money and just send in the blow-in card, at this point.

Are you sure the renewal is from Keyboard or the publisher itself? It's always $12/yr for me. Check the submission address and see if it's one of those outside dealies. Somewhere around here, maybe in the Keyboard Corner itself, is a post from Ernie Rideout that describes what to look for in a real subscription offer.

That's the first thing I checked. The letter header, that shows through the glassine window on the envelope, has the proper Lowell, MA address. The enclosed return envelope, has the same Lowell, MA address printed on it. The offer is: 1-year for $15.00, 2-years for $25.00, and 3-years for $35.00.
The blow-in card(s) in every issue say: 1-year $12.00.
It seems that if you already subscribe, you get stiffed for a couple bucks on a renew because of it. One would think that if you already are a subscriber, Keyboard Magazine would want to keep you. Curious business plan, if it indeed is the plan.

Sorry to appear "irked" and to have "Amazed" " you. I've been a Keyboard Magazine subscriber for less than a year. I get no other magazines that want a previous subscriber to pay more than a new one. It's not the money, it's the idea behind it that I question. If that's the way the world is, no wonder we are in the financial state we are now as a country. If that's how it is, OK. I'll let my subscription lapse and then start over as a newby again by sending in the card.
It seems to be like everything else in life now, we're just supposed to accept it and move ahead (behind, actually) and shut up. Well, not me. That kind of thinking got us Shrub for 4 more stolen years.

Never mind. You don't understand at all and seem to just have fun poking at people. Please do it to someone else. I feel my question was legitimate, you don't. So I'll just walk away and you get to win. Is that better now? Have fun. Geez, it sure would be great to be a winner all the time like you.
I hope you got great pleasure in the last 8 years. For some of us, it has been a nightmare. For my nephew, the nightmare is over. He was killed in Shrub's war over a year ago. Now the rest of his family get to have the nightmare of his loss to us every day for the rest of our lives.
Thanks again for your kindness.

I've got another question. While there is a link to a website, http://www.mykeyboardmag.com...... I get an error message when using my existing account number, that warns me of a syntax error, that doesn't really help me understand what I did wrong, and when I manually enter my information, the 3 year offer isn't there.
