Hi every1,
We (my brother and I) record vocals in a very small room (used to be a bath).. It's about 2 X 1.5 X 2.7 meters, or in feet 6.5 X 5 X 8.8. The room has a slanted ceiling with 1/2" fiberglas (I think), and the walls and floor are covered in melamine (I think) foam, and there's a corner trap (melamine also). That pretty much killed the room, but when recording we had some strange resonances at around 1kHz (although it might be from the singer..). Also, the lack of reverb really makes the place hard for singing, and usually singers sing off note when recording there. What would be the best treatment I can do to improve the room? Though about taking the floor's foam out, and adding some padding to the celing..
Thanks ,
Nizan.

With a very small room like that it's best to make it totally dead. You're probably wearing earphones when you record anyway, so just add reverb to the headphones mix (only) to give the singers some inspiration.

Hi Ethan,
10x for the reply When you mean totally dead, do you mean I should add alot of bass traps as well? The room is going to be used for vox only.. So I though maybe some 2" snow-white on corner.. I don't want to eat up alot of space..
Thanks again
Nizan.

I can't say how many bass traps you need without being there to hear it, but I'm sure you need at least some bass traps.

Hi!
I've checked the room and it seems there are two not too wide dips in ~250Hz and ~400Hz.. The main problem with the room is the reverb and some strange reverb coming from the corridor behind the wall.. So I guess some corner traps and high frequecy absorbers on the walls should do the trick, right?
Thanks!
