I've got a small room, I suppose it's about 7ft by 12 ft. This is room is annoyingly awkward, a rediculous room to record in let alone bother treating, but it's all I've got and i figure some treatment is going to be better than none at all.
There is a door in the left top corner of the room and a built in wardrobe in the lower left corner of the room, making it impossible to place traps across either. I figure if I can only trap one side of the room's worth of corners I may as well not trap any of the corners- I'd rather have two bad sides than one good side and one bad side, if you know what i mean. There's also a window covering the back wall which can't be covered.
Anyway, I've decided to place absorption panels across the lengths of the room and several behind the console. I think that is about all I can do with this bloody room. I'm looking up at the ceiling right now and wondering if it's even going to be worth hanging any absorption off it (due to the size of the room, I'd want to be covering as much of the ceiling as possible). Firstly, it would be a royal pain to do because i can't drill into the ceiling and would have to come up with some other way of doing it without making permanant fixings, secondly there is a large light fighting in the middle of the ceiling that would probably be smothered by any panel i put there, thirdly there is an air conditioning vent that may suffer the same fate as the light and lastly, fourth, it may make a small room feel even more claustrophobic and lastly, considering the size of the room I doubt it's going to have that much of a positive impact anyway.
Should I just play it safe and stick with placing absorption panels along the walls and behind the console or should i make the effort (groan) and try and get some absorption panels on the ceiling? Is it going to make that much of a difference?
Thanks v much
Here's a little diagram of what I'm rabbiting on about-

I see many places for treatment. Bass traps don't have to straddle corners. When you can't do that, just put them flat on the wall near the corners. Put them on the door too. And don't ignore the corners where the walls and ceiling meet. Same for the walls and floor. Most rooms have 12 corners.

Yes, you need absorption at the first reflection points. If you plan to record in there, more absorption over that part of the room will probably help too.
