Awhile back I mentioned that I am playing guitar for a local production of "Hair". Opening night went great, but my guitar broke in the middle of the second act. The signal jack unscrewed and fell apart, and the plug scooted inside the guitar. It looks like a DIY fix, but I was freaking out. Lucky, there was a spare guitar, and luckier for me, it was a Gibson LP. Whoof! If there is a video made, i'll post it here.

Glad you had a spare to use. That must have been a sinking feeling....
I ALWAYS have a spare guitar AND a spare amp, and I've had to call on each more than once... I remember watching a friend try to struggle through a gig after his amp blew up. He had to plug straight into the PA, which sounded like ass. I said to myself, "Self, don't ever let that happen to you," and so I carry spares no matter how lowly a gig it is.

I always take 2 guitars or basses, and I carry a Crate Brick as a backup - I can plug the speakers of my Laney combo into it, or my bass speaker. It's a bit low powered for bass, but would get me through.

Lucky, there was a spare guitar, and luckier for me, it was a Gibson LP. A "Spare Guitar"... And it just "Happend to Be" a Les Paul??? Life just ain't fair sometimes...
So... how may turns did you have to unscrew the jack to ensure it would come apart in time for you to get a hold of that LP??

Awhile back I mentioned that I am playing guitar for a local production of "Hair"... So, are there nekkid folks running around on stage? Back in the day when "Hair" was performed at my college they had people wearing body stockings under dimmed lights to simulate nudity.
'Back in the day' in Glasgow, there were no simulations.......

Back in the day when "Hair" was performed at my college they had people wearing body stockings under dimmed lights to simulate nudity. Unfortunately, we have to do something similar. What sort of happens is a thin semi-opaque screen lowers and there is a light behind the actors, and the nudity is like silhouettes.
Overall, I am pretty happy with the way everything turned out. It is pretty easy to get excited about, so the actors really get into character.
