For those of you who are Uriah Heep fans, here's a very interesting release: http://www.david-byron.com/

It's the last three songs David Byron recorded before his untimely death. In late 1983 Richard Manners [Blue Mountain Music] asked Richard "Digby" Smith [Rough Diamond, Free, Sammy Hagar, Mott The Hoople] to put together a band and cut some tracks with David.

Including drummer Neil Conteh [Jagger/Bowie], bassist Alan Spenner [Joe Cocker, Roxy Music], guitarist Tim Renwick [Elton John, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd], keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick [Free, Roger Waters, The Who], along with the Chanter Sisters doing backing vocals an excellent group of musicians were assembled.

In February 1984 at Power Plant Studios, London three tracks were recorded. Talk of a entire album was discussed by sadly that never came to be. The tracks are:

1. That Was Only Yesterday
2. Waiting For The Sun
3. Pride And Joy

I have no personal interest or profit from this release (I paid for my copy, just like anyone else) but just want to make people aware \:\)

While I wouldn't call it spam, per sec, crossposting it in several different places on the forum is definitely bad form, Eddie...

I know \:\( But hey at least I am clear in my intentions, or am I? I just want to reach a large audience, and let's be fair, aside from the multi-instrumentalists, no one visits each other's forum. I'll occasionally go on the guitarist forum for a laugh, but I mainly stick to the Low Down, Bandwidth and this one. And the latter two do NOT have that big an audience.

And like I said, I am not involved in this project whatsoever. I sort of know the people that are (through mail only) and want to help them spread the word of this release. That's all. My intentions are good, Griffinator \:\)

I think I agree with David/Eddie, Griffinator. There area minority of us (maybe 20 or so) who post in more than one of the forums and David is just a fan(atic) rather than having any financial interest.

I did the same when organising a Lowdown jam session in London and I got a KC member there too. I wouldn't have done that without cross-posting.

Maybe there's one guy on KC or GF whose really glad to hear about the David Byron CD who might otherwise not have hear, I don't know.

I guess it was overkill to post it in this forum to though as we're all frequenters of the other forums . . . although I rarely remember to check in here! Doh!
