I just wanted to wish you a Happy Easter.

What are your customs for Easter?

This weekend, I'll practically be living at church. Tonight, tommorrow and Sunday I'll be at church doing one thing or another. Hopefully before next Easter I'll be doing some worship music on guitar!

On Sunday, my brothers come over with their wives and children. We'll have an Easter egg hunt inside the house this year because it is supposed to be cold. Imagine having a 10 year old, a 9 year old, a 4 year old and a 3 year old running about the house! And all of them will want me to chase them, so by the time they leave I'm pooped!

Happy Easter to you as well. \:\)

Well of course we'll be at church on Sunday.

Back when we had kids, we'd have Easter baskets for them even til when they got to be teenagers.
Even til right before they went to college and during college, if we didn't have them an Easter basket full of candy, they would be all sad and dejected. \:D

Of course, the wife and I would give each other Easter baskets and cards.
That would be followed by me getting a play butt chewing for getting her all those sweets & peeps. \:D
Uhhhh...that didn't stop her from eating it all though. \:D

Now that the kids are 26 & 30, we no longer give or send them Easter baskets but we do send them cards.

For the wife and I...she loves to get the little SOFT stuffed bunnies with a card...and maybe a little bit of candy. \:\) \:D

After that, we go to Easter services and maybe have lunch with a few neighbors at a local restaurant.
All in all, a great day.

I must say that in my old age, I am trending towards and getting back to the True meaning of Easter.
I get much more out of that than anything. \:\)

Happy Easter all. \:\)

Randy

Our niece's 4th b-day coincides with Easter, and a herd of kids will be going to a local theme park for kids tomorrow. Turkey on Sunday, if we survive the park.

Me too. Today our priest was playing Alan Jackson's "Precious Memories" though the PA as we had breakfast today. I guess that Alan Jackson originally meant to make the CD as a gift to his grandmother (?) and wasn't going to be released. At least that's what I heard.

I got a kick out of the saying on the bottom of the can "I had this beer brewed up just for me. I think it's the best I've ever tasted. AND I'VE TASTED ALOT. I think you'll like it too". I'm not a beer drinker, but I've been told that Billy beer was really nasty tasting.

I've got a special Easter coming up. My wife is headed to Boston to be with her family; I was going to go, of course, but as it turns out I've got two ewes that are about ready to lamb any second. So we decided that I'd stay behind in case one or more lambs come and a little help is needed. It'd be great to have "Easter lambs!"

Mmmm. Though Sasquatch is no doubt formidable, I think I'd have to put my money on the dog. I've seen her in action...

WOW...just got back from Sunrise service.

I live near a place in Georgia called Callaway Gardens.
You guys probably have seen this place on ESPN if you ever watch water ski or wake board competitions.

Anyway, we were on a huge covered pier on the water facing east.
Probably around 500 people there with a great youth choir.
We heard a great message and the whole time the horizon was going from black with a full moon behind us, to purple, to pink, and then right at the end....the sun peaks through the trees like a lazer beam! \:\)

It was pretty cold out though, around 38 degrees so everyone was bundled up due to the breeze coming off the water.

All in all, very inspirational.
I hope your Easter Sunday is a nice as mine started off. \:\)

Great dog! I had the black model (Newfie) to watch over my drive way. I caught this one watching a heard a few miles from my place last summer.

Easter... I had the kids long enough to have dinner Friday and had my mother over. Beautiful day and it's been a great weekend overall.
I don't do the organized religion thing but I tossed on some of the classics and the house feels like a cathedral..
Tradition being all but gone I find it relieving to let my kids be themselves, honor their input and willingness to cooperate and build memories out of adventure instead of recycling the past.
It's amazing how peaceful everything is.

Happy Easter everyone.

Happy Easter.

We actually have Easter on Saturday so that we're not all stuck driving home on Sunday night which is a pain here.

So for me, I'll be eating Easter leftovers today.

HT.....love them Easter leftovers!!

Strategery.....that's one of the reasons I love hunting. Most mornings are spent sitting up a tree, quietly watching the world, forrest, and it's critters come alive. It's rather spiritual.

We're having homemade raviolli that my son and father in law made, along with homemade sauce. We also got a smoked ham that a local butcher here in our valley prepared. Just immediate family this year. We're not doing the extended family feast extravaganza this year. I'm happy about that....don't tell anybody!!

I hope everybody has a wonderful day.

Hey Don,

I hear ya'.
Just being out in nature is like that..but watching the sun come up is cool. \:\)

We just got back from a 7 mile golf cart ride around the neighborhood.
You know, drinking a little wine, stopping to chat with a couple of neighbors. \:D

We were sitting outside and the breeze was blowing through the trees.
Butterflies and birds were all over the place.
Not a bad day at all.

Grilling out chicken tenders on the grill shortly, serving it with homemade macaroni & cheese, peas, and deviled eggs.
After that...probably a nap. \:D

Have a great evening all. \:\)

Happy Easter everyone!

Today - woke to snow falling - made boiled eggs for the family - my youngster got his chocolate ones too - went to church - then to dim sum - then walking in the park in the freezing cold - then coffee - then home to relax.

I made an Easter egg hunt yesterday as we were staying with my folks. I devised some cryptic clues for my 6 year old to crack to find the locations of the hidden eggs.

Japan has versons of several western holidays but Easter has not translated.
Oddly enough I did some recording yesterday at the home of a religiously-oriented Christian extended family, no one mentioned Easter.

Gee, Neil, how could you have guessed that I am single? \:D Actually, sometimes the kids are the best part of a family get together.

The kids crack me up. When I asked my 9 year old nephew how much money he got from the Easter egg hunt, the 4 year old nephew piped up and said that the 9 year old got $70.00! I have no idea where he got that number, but it made me laugh.

Oh, and lasagna -- it's whats for dinner at our home on Easter (this year we had stuffed shells though).

I had no idea that the Ten Commandments was on TV this year. I ended up watching the movie "The Lakehouse" with a friend.

I also heard that Genny, Schaffers (sp) and Carling Black Label were nasty. My father used to drink those beers. According to some beer drinkers I know, those beers and Utica Club were some of the worst tasting beers they ever had.

Someone sent me a pic of a dead bunny rabbit on the side of the road with a basket full of cracked and broken colored eggs strewn about. The top of it said, "easters cancelled!"

LOL, I don't celebrate it but my family gets together every Sunday anyways. I mean the kids get Easter baskets with a bunch of chocolate and jellybeans but there is no religious element. Just the Easter Bunny.

I was joking around telling my niece that the Easter Bunny hates Santa and lives at the South Pole, and that once he almost stole Christmas. I was kidding of course, and she knew it.
