This bass was made for me to replace an early Tobias that I owned which did not look like what we were building at the time (I worked for Tobias from 1983-1992). I sold that bass and Mike agreed to make this one for me. The original Tobias I had was hollow so I got Mike to agree to make this one hollow too. Retail for this bass today (If Gibson would make it) would be in the neighborhood of $8,000.00 (The standard Sig 5 lists for $7,200.00). The fingerboard is unlined with side dots. A 1 of a kind instrument for sure. I saved the cutout from the wenge core which is pictured above.
