Hi,

Can someone please show me a picture (measurement graph) of a good sounding room to learn what is good on acoustic treatment?

I measured a tiny room (in meters: width: 2,48 mts x Length: 3,10 mts x Heigth: 220 mts)with 4 centimeters foam all over except for the floor that it's reflective..

Here is the picture: http://radioencarnacion.com/files/room.jpg

I Measured the room with Room EQ Wizard and a Behringer tube ultragain mic 200 preamp (in Neutral mode), and a behringer ecm 8000 condenser mic. My speakers are a pair of Alesis Studio one mk II.

The Room EQ Wizard told me that I have 4 peaks between 20 Hz and 500 Hz:

66,3 Hz Gain 2,1dB
95,5 Hz Gain 2,7dB
125,6 Hz Gain 7,0dB
160,4 Hz Gain 4,7dB

I use this tiny room to record vocals and do some mixing:

what you think about the graph of my room?
Can you show some measurement graph of a good sounding room?

Thank's!

Chris

Can you zoom in that graph a little bit? Maybe use 1/6 Octave smoothing? Use like 45db to 85db and 20-20khz for your graph axis.

Your 1khz+ is really low compared to your 1khz and below. Do you have your highs turned way down or something? Maybe that thin foam is just absorbing all of your highs and none of your bass.
Do you have a sub also? That seems like really good 20hz response for such a small speaker.

The post "Measured Room Some Advice Needed" is an example of a good sounding small room. But I would love to see other people's responses as well. I really think that Ethan should make a measured room response sticky so we can see the difference treatment has made.

Jeff

Here is your response.

Hi Speaker Boy!

I donīt know how to change the way the REW graph the measurement but I zoom in all the graph and deleted the mic cal and sound card calibration line..

And here's the waterfall graph..

I don't got sub woofers. About the 20 Hz response, I noticed too that those speakers are pretty good with sub lows. When you play something cinematographic on it, the sub lows are well reproduced.

I think too that the foam it's sucking the mids, the high mids and some highs.. This tiny room it's pretty dark sounding.. or maybe it's the amp that I'm using, a really old pioneer for consumer hehe, but with the bass and treble in neutral..

I got a QSC that I could use but the bass player on my band it's using it.

Maybe I could use some Helmholtz Resonator here, don't you think?

The low frequency waterfall graph below was taken in my living room which has extensive bass trapping. This article explains more:
