...this is truly one great post. I nominate it to appear somewhere somehow on the printed version of the mag! Even though it's technically NOT a letter, maybe it could get that letter-of-the-month prize! LOL!

I agree: it should be in the magazine somewhere. Maybe as part of an article on the reality of being professional musicians, with input from lots of other people.
(Yes, I know you've done articles on the subject before over the years, but it's been a while!)
